Our Plano Dentist is a Certified Clear Correct Provider
It’s never too late to straighten your teeth.

Adults and teens can enjoy the many benefits that Invisalign removable aligners have to offer over traditional metal braces. Most teens will begrudgingly give in to metal braces, but for the majority of adults and working professionals, traditional metal braces are out of the question. Our Plano dentist is a certified Invisalign provider, offering an exciting solution for all ages.

Treatable Cases and Health Benefits
Invisalign aligners are effective in treating mild to severe cases of crooked teeth, also referred to as malocclusion. Overbites, under-bites, cross-bites, gaps in teeth, and even open bites have been successfully corrected using the Invisalign treatment method.

Most importantly, there are significant health benefits to correcting misaligned teeth. Crooked teeth are more difficult to clean, and harbor harmful bacteria that eventually contribute to cavities, gum disease and tooth loss. The gums, teeth and jaw bone continue to deteriorate at a rapid pace over the years if crooked teeth are not corrected. Our Plano dentist is glad to be able to offer the public a convenient solution to this problem.

Advantages of Invisalign Aligners Over Traditional Braces
On the one hand, metal braces make it more difficult for patients to floss, brush, and eat certain foods. Frequent dental visits are also required to readjust braces as the teeth gradually straighten. Metal braces are also uncomfortable and abrasive on the inside of the mouth. Invisalign aligners, on the other hand, can be conveniently removed when flossing, brushing and eating. The aligners are made from a smooth BPA-free plastic for maximum comfort. Invisalign patients only need to come in roughly every 6 weeks to monitor progress. Additionally, Invisalign aligners are clear and will often times go completely undetected.

The Invisalign Treatment Process
When patients come to our Plano dentist office for the Invisalign treatment, x-rays and impressions of the teeth are taken in order to visualize the movements they will take as they straighten. Custom aligners are then sent for fabrication. The patient will be given a series of aligners that will progressively straighten their teeth. Patients advance to the next set of aligners roughly every two weeks. On average, this process extends to a period of about a year, though more extreme cases may require a longer treatment period. For optimal results, the aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day, and only be removed when eating and cleaning the teeth.
